1) Because are original design we chose didn't work so we looked at the design of this one and concluded it would work better.
2) The tension is built when we pull back the popsicle stick and when it is released, the tension springs forward launching the pom pom.
3) Tension acted on the projectile. This happens when the stick is triggered.
Air resistance acts on the projectile. This happens when it soars through the air.
Gravity acts on the projectile. Gravity acts upon the pom-pom when it is in the air .
4) Our catapult did well because there was a lot of intended tension that helped the design launch the pom-pom.
5) Newton's first law affected our catapult because the projectile wouldn't stop moving until it was acted upon by gravity a unbalanced force..
Newton's second law affected our catapult because the force which was applied was equal to the projectile's mass and acceleration.
Newton's third law affected our catapult because the action force of the arm being pulled back had a reaction force of the arm swinging forward, launching the projectile.
6) Our catapult had no friction.
7) The potential energy is when the arm is coked back, and the kinetic energy begins when the trigger is pulled.
8) We could of doubled up the throwing arm for more tension.
We could of made a better trigger because ours didn't work every time.
We could of made it taller so we could pull the arm back further.
9) We should try to launch heavier objects and see how far they go compared to the pom poms.
